job

What do I do for a living?

Software Quality Assurance

I believe that if you’re taught to think like an engineer, it doesn’t mean what you are exactly engineering. That’s why despite different academic background software testing is my everyday job. Since 2006 I’m a certified ISEB Foundation Level software tester, and since the end of 2007 I have had ISEB Certificate of Practitioner in Software Testing. I’m specialized in functional, high-level testing (acceptance tests, end-user testing), but I’m also experienced in QA activities regarding the whole software production life cycle (Agile and waterfall methodologies). In early 2009 I have completed Scrum Master certification training and since that time I act also as Scrum Master in agile software development organization. Due to new professional experiences and challenges I improve my skills in defining and introducing Quality Assurance processes and Error Management.

Telecommunication journalism

I’m passionate about telecom solutions, services and devices, especially mobile ones. I like sharing my knowledge, interests, or opinions about these areas of technology, therefore in 2000 I started my adventure with telecommunication journalism, working for FKN.pl. Since 2004 I’ve been writing both technical and commentary articles for the biggest Polish telecom paper magazine “Twoja Komórka”. Since 2008 I also enjoy a role of an active blogger.

Biotechnology

In 2006 I graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry at Wroclaw University of Technology with degree of Master of Science in Biotechnology. My master thesis was about environment pollution with polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs).

Sailing

My first real job was working as Sailing Instructor on summer holiday camps. I truly liked this job because it combined both passion and responsibility. Currently I don’t have much time and opportunity for this activity, but I’m still proud of my first professional experience.
